The IELTS Writing Task 1 asks you to write a summary of at least 150 words about some visual information, usually in the form of a graph or chart.
You will need to pick out the main features and describe and compare the data given.
The IELTS Writing Task 1 can prove to be quite difficult, especially if you have not prepared for it.
There are some things that all graph or chart types have in common and other things that make them quite distinct.
The type of language you’ll need will be different depending on the graph or chart that comes up on the day of the exam.
However, the one thing they all have in common is the structure.
At Atlas, we strongly recommend that you seriously prepare yourselves for what you need to do.
If you do not get this right, you’ll lose a lot of marks. We will look at these in detail in future posts.
