In April, Musk announced his first agreement to purchase Twitter for $54.20 per share, or $44 billion.

He then announced that he was terminating the agreement, stating that Twitter had not provided sufficient details on the number of bots using its network.

In an effort to pressure Musk into purchasing the business, Twitter retaliated against Musk in July by bringing a lawsuit in Delaware Chancery Court.

Twitter said in its complaint that Musk's alleged worry about bots was really an excuse for pulling out of the agreement when the stock market began to tank.
